Mazel Tov Wedding

A 5 1/2 inch square card that was custom created for a jewish couple. A lot of metallic paper in the colors of aquatic and steele blue hues. A scallop border punch(XL) and a scrap of dark grey ribbon. black mini jewels for a more elegant touch.

I put it in a clear envelope for the delivery of the gift for the couple. When the giver of this card received a thank you for the gift inside this card, I received a beautiful expression of thanks as the artist on the card.

Baptizing Twins

It is one of my favorite techniques, and it is called bleaching. These cards are created with SU Paper that has now been retired since "Color Renovation". The stamp set is a classic standard for me it is called "Buggies and Booties". Some dry embossing and border punches to create the "Vintage Look".

Now this is my prize piece for this party. I took a design request from the party planner and stepped it up a notch. We wanted a Happy Birthday banner that reflected and maintained the theme of everything. One from the Party Store would not due for me. You all know that right? Days of design reserach on the Stampin Up Pennant Banner. I used the Digital Paper once more with the Damask Design, Scalloped Circle die cutes, and pearls from the jewelry department in the craft store. The pearls are hard to see here. But they are there. This banner is one of my proudest pieces.

80th Birthday Celebration

It is one of my most inspiring projects. I spent hours writing down the items that would create an invitation that would reflect the woman we as a family were celebrating. When I kept repeating the same items like purses, shoes and pearls I knew what to do. Following the hot trend of Pink and Damask the design was complete. The floral container was a Purse with handles. The person was on the Birthday Girl's table, and the rest of the tables had shoes.

The favor was a diecut box from SU (box#2) and the damask paper was a digital design found at a digital scrapbook website. The buckle is a bridal ribbon buckle. I wont even venture to say what each one cost. But worth evry dime.

Trick or Treat

The girls in my office get a special stamp something from me every Holiday. It is so much fun to surprise them with a goody. But this time I made sure I got each one their favorite candy.

They each had to say " Trick or Treat" before I gave them the canister.

I got these containers in the clearance bin of the local craft store. I decorated them with ribbon and a die cut treat bag by the makers of the SU "big Shot". I used the modern label punch for the words and some leftover black jewels. I punched a circle out of yellow paper and sponged it and used a punch for the house image.

These are the "Summer" digital papers available for purchase at Stampin Up. With the help of Patty Bennett's tutorial I was able to create cards from inspiration on her Demonstrator blog.
this was so easy to do and lighting fast. I used scrap box card stock for the layers and left over scrap ribbon from many other projects. The words are from a "Brush kit" included in the "My Digital Studio Software".

A year a full year I owned Stampin Up's "My digital Stdio Sealed. Richard was diagnosed with cancer when I received my free gift of "My Digital Studio".from a hostess workshop. It stayed sealed in my studio for a year. WOW!!!
But loving the use and cost effectiveness of Digital Paper I decided to plunge in and learn it. Quite a user friendly program. After carefully studying many SU Demos blogs on the program I was able to do this card quickly. Thank you Patty Bennett for your inspiration and tutorials. http://pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/my-digital-studio-cards/. What I enjoy is that I can still hand make a card and utilize the computer as well. Now a whole new world of inspiration.

Note: I printed the paper on an HP Laser Printer and I picked the color Really Rust. It does not match the card stock color in real life but I didn't care because I used it combination with another type of SU card stock and was very very pleased with the results.

Each Fall and Spring I teach an adult education course for the local High School. I found that this stamp set creates dramatic cards that could be used for any card worthy occasion.

I sponged and Distressed the paper layers for the deep colored silhouetted effects.

Digital Stamping is hot and quite fun. This is a Digital image from a really neat artist. I couldn't resist her. She is colored with Alcohol markers. The paper is from a Digital Scrapbook kit with a school theme and printed on smooth "white" card stock. The Telephone paper is actually from a Yellow Pages Book, which are hard to find these days. I put crystal effects on her lips for a "glossy lip". I hand drew her stockings.

Lapis Wedding Card

Wedding Card- Fabric Ribbon

This part II of the wedding fabric scraps. Also from the hem I created a tube with fabric and then tied a knot to put around the embossed white layer. I used digitally generated paper for the scallop oval punch. On the is finished card I computer generated the Bride and Grooms Monogram, and popped it up in the scallop oval.

The card is 5 1/2 square. Mainly dry emboseed with the Big Shot. No stampin on the outside.I used a glue pen to fill in some areas and then sprinkled glitter on those areas to create texture.

Blissful Bride Shower

This is a layout I cased from my monthly SU club meeting. I just returned after many months in absence. Shimmer paints was the technique that was focused on for this card. The original card was an A2 I made this one a 5 1/2 square. I used the SU embossing folder and another embossing folder that was a gift. I used shimmer paper and white paper. White organdy ribbon and crystal jewels. I used shimmer paint on the dress. I used an aqua painter to apply it. Very little drops of water so that it wouldn't look thick,and some pearl drop paint on the flowers of the dress.

Big Shot Wedding Flower

As some of you may know I have been a make up artist for a large company for over twenty years. Yes! and I have learned a lot about color and fashion trends. All that being said we know how much I love creating and going out of the box. A very dear friend came to me and asked what I could come up with from the left over material from the hem of her dress. Well this is part I of the things I used with the leftover fabric.

She was the Matron of Honor and I made her a hair clip from the Big XL SU Die "Flower Folds". I had the center gem in a stash of the things you don't know what you buy them for then but you will find something to do with it.

I did indeed do her makeup and yes "HER HAIR" I did it because she was so sure that I could make it happen. She is on a budget and could not afford the hair and make up fees. So I did the hair and makeup and kept in her budget.

I love art!! Can you tell?

"For the Bride"

This dress reminds me of Cinderella. This stamp set can be found in the SU Summer Mini Catalog.
It is a 5 1/2 square card. A new CB folder from the European collection, a SU SAB set, pearls, a saved Calla Lilly flower, and a SU SAB Punch.

I stamped the dress twice. Once on the focal and a second time on home made pattern paper. I made the paper by stamping a dollar spot Damask stamp on white paper with VERSAMARK Ink and then clear heat embossing it. I cut out the image and raised it with a foam tape.

Austin's principal retired on June 23, 2010 after 41 years in education. I respected her immensely as an educator and a person who took my son under her personal wing. She has been a huge support force in the recent year. She coached "Austin" everyday. Gave me her attention and great wisdom. But she shared that with all her students for she was passionate about her school community. Thank You Mrs. D.

So we made her a special card and gave her a sterling silver key pendent with a heart. She kept telling us that it was her time to put on her play clothes and make the most of the next journey. So I found it fir to make her a card that included her new found phrase. The "Pedaling Past" stamp set will be in the SU July 1, 2010 catalog. And of course I love SU's "branch Out" , which retired. I used sponging and different green inks to create the scene. The layout was inspired by Michelle Zindorf and a Little scenic technique from Kitte747 at SCS. The Awing I created out of leftover MM paper and a MS punch.

Red Wine Birthday

My days a getting ahead of me and I can not keep up with this diary as I would like. This was my Dads Birthday card. He loves wine and I had this stamp for forever.

Desinging a card for original personality of a person is not so easy, and i am usually making the card the day of, even though I have the idea in my head for weeks.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and then distressed it with ink and tearing it. This is a 5 1/2 square card.

This is special card for my niecs first birthday. A very generous lady at Simons Says Stamp gracious gifted me this stamp set. It is one of there eexclusive designs. The theme of the birthday was party was Party hats. The invitations I made were party hats and the favors were party hats stuffed wth candy. On to the card. It is a 5 1/2" sqaure card with wrapping paper as the designer paper in the background. I cuttlebugged the Bashful Blue paper witht the "happy Birthday" folder. I printed the number one on light weight cardboard using a large font(Times New Roman) on Microsoft Word. Then I cut the additional layers out of wrapping paper and card stock. The Balloons were punched.

I know that if you have had the opportunity to spend time with me you know that Richie's the reason for my becoming a SU Demo as well as an instructor. If I didn't not have his support there would not be a blog or any of the other creative things that I do when it comes to crafting. So this Valentine was I would say over the top. It was easy just time consuming. I love the way it came out. And he was really surprised. He wanted to know if I owned the real thing. I won't go any further.

This is a 5 1/2 inch square card. Lots of eyelets.. The paper is digital paper that I printed from my many digital paper packs. the xo is a dollar bin Stugio G stamp from last years AC Moore Valentines Day stamps. The Marvy (green handle) heart punch. I used some left over hem lace tape as the "ribbon" embellishment. PTI Bitty dots paper. I used black grosgran ribbon on the bottom to look like garters.

Suspended Thanks

What is TLC? Well in the world of acronymns it stands for; TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE". This is a technique I taught for one of my classes in February. I am trying to expand my classes to reflect some of the challenges that they would love to do on SCS but for one reason or another don't get the chance to do it.

This is Card #2in the "Suspension Class". I followed the tutorial on SCS. Here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/suspension_card/
The Technique is great. I also wanted to show the students that one technique can create a whole different card. (See the Buzzin Bees below). One of my favorite Stampin Up! colors is Mellow Moss, I combined sponging and stamping to create this card. Each layer of the scallop that is punched out is done one at a time, The punch can not go through two layers at one time. So I punched through the very vanilla first. I then placed the vanilla layer on the eggplant layer and traced the scallop with pencil on that layer. Placed the punch over my pencil marks and I got the second scallop cut. Now to get the circle on the moss layer I used a colluzle circle cutter, because the scallop punch could not go into the layer of moss far enough to create the window circle.

Finally I sponged and stamped my images and put the card together. This took longer to explain. It is quite easy.

Buzzin BY(Suspension ) Card

This is a card from one of my Technique classes for the Month of March. I found the tutorial for a "Suspension Card". It is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.

I give my students more than a sample. I provide them with options to use their own imaginations. So I am not only providing a technique I give them inspiration. I don't like to call it "casing" I like sharing inspiration.

This set really is cute. A real must have. And I love love love "Buttercup Flowers" aka Daffodils.

I colored the Prima Flower with a So Saffron Marker to give it the hue of the card.

MFT Valentine

This was a set that I have been wanting to play with for over a year. I made this card for a good friend CB and her DH DB. I love the whimsical art of the MFT stamps.. The layout is from a fellow stamper who shares wonderful work on SCS and on her own blog. Her name is "Nitestamper"http://memystampsandi.blogspot.com/ . One of CB favorite colors is SU Regal Rose. So I found ribbon from a a place called G&& in Saddlebrook, NJ and built the card from there. I also have really enjoyed play with " Digi Paper", and this is from MFT digital paper pack. Stephanie Fizer Papers - Chocolate Kiss @ http://www.mftstamps.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=25.

I also created a little treat box from 2 SU Scallop envelope Sizzix Die Cut, ran them through the Heart Cuttelbug Folder, and glued them together. I had to cut some of the bottom of the envelope off to get the base of the box to close.

The chocolates are colored with Copic Sketch markers, doodled with a gel pen and then put crystal effects over the box. I used paper pebbles/a/k/a "Dew Drops" also from G&G Distributors. The Hear buttons are from AC Moore when they had the "seasonal Valentines" section.

Rustic Rooster

The newest thing I have discovered is purchasing "Digital Paper Packs". Many Digital Scrapbookers and Graphic Artist's create these paper packs, which can be purchased and downloaded. I then save them in my hard drive, and print out what I need. I love this because I use these papers a lot in my classes. I ideally use Hammermill 60lb. white paper, which I get at Staples.com (only). It is cost effective and fun. The best is the paper packs have coordinating papers just like Hybrid papers. I started the base of this card I can not tell you how long ago and just plain lost my Mojo on it. I cuttlebugged the Very Vanilla Base attached the the ribbon and digital paper layer, and then was stuck. For months it layed on my desk. I would look at it and nothing. Then I got my new Hostess Level 2 set from Stampin Up and the day I mounted it on the desk it struck me. From that instant it took ten minutes to complete the card.

I colored in the Rooster with an Aqua painter and ink pads from the SU Earth Element color family. I used some pewter brads from American Crafts and a paperclip that was in a basket of things to put away and a scrap piece of SU old olive ribbon. I used the SU Tab Punch, circle punches, ticket corner and word window punch to create the greeting.

Nursery Necessities Baby Boy

This is a baby card inspired by "Pickletree"http://pickledpaperdesigns.blogspot.com/. Her work is of great inspiration and she shares so much of herself with the SCS Community. The layout is what really got my attention and this is such a cute baby set. I made mine an A2 size, which 5 1/2 by 4 3/4. The stamp set has been designed so that you can use the matching punches. It was the first time I used the Palette "Glue Pad" and Martha Stewards fine glitter in Crystal.

In order tog get the three colors for the Sailboat I stamped the boat three(3) time in each color and then cut it out and popped the color I wanted to contrast on a single stamped boat image.

My Anniversary Card

Many of you know that I love to receive cards from my students. It gives me a pleasure beyond the expression of words. The girls in my office took time and made me this card for my 20th Wedding Anniversary in November. The flowers were stunning and I will always have them now I took a photo. When I came into work that Morning of November 5, 2008 I was so surprised. Loving the card first and the flowers were the icing on the cake. Thank you girls. Chefy Thanks

I love this Chef. AKA as "Chefy" He is very fun to work with. I can not remember the occasion I created this for but the recipient loves to cook. The Chalkboard Menu has real cork behind it. The food tray is shiny art paper from Michael's art department. On his pants I used a technique called "paper piecing" and his buttons are colored with a black gel pen and then I put glossy effects over them, and I did the same to his shoes. All of the coloring was done with "SU Waterbased Markers" and an aquapainter brush for Blending.

Hanukkah Greetings

This is a set that I like most waited a longtime for and finally " Papertrey" released a beauty. Now I want to let you know that this set reflects the heart of the "Judaism" Nicole Heady spent precious time educating herself on the aspects of this set. And although I do not practice Judaism nor am I Jewish, I have to say she out did herself with this set. This creation is a direct case from the "Papertrey" website. I couldn't resist the Marsh mellow treats. The ribbon is from a dollar spot in a local Dollar store.
I have quite a few friends who are jewish and I love giving them things for their special Holidays. I hight recommend that you check out this set. It is awesome.

MY Bloomin Birthday Card

Yes! This is a Birthday card from one of my stamp students. Miss C has grown into a card artist that takes your breath away each and every time you see one of her creations. This card was put in my mailbox by her Dear DH and boy was I wowed by this card. But the best was in the little SU Top Note Bag. It was a personalized stamp with my name on it. It is for my card creations. I had been asking Miss C for the name of the place where the stamp was made but she kept forgetting every time I spoke to her during our sharing of card ideas. Ha Ha! She was working on the surprise. The recipe for this card is to be to the best of my memory.
The most gratifying part of receiving a card that is handmade is that the artist thought about the recipient during the entire creation and assembly process. I feel so special, truly to be given so much of Miss C's time o this card. To add to that is that I have come full circle in my stamping success and truly have achieved passing the love of creating through teaching others. Thank you sooo much Miss C.

JD Birthday

This card was a given with a bottle of JD. The receiver of this gift loves JD & coke. A classic right? I used cuttlebug folders and copper metallic paper to match the images. I used T. Rangers "Glossy Effects"( Bought it at AC Moore)on the bottle and shot glasses. Some SU Copper cording which was retired ages ago and I can not find anywhere. American Crafts Pewter Brads. The gentleman who received this card was "Wowed" and so was I when I was done. NOTICE NO STAMPS!!!!

US Marine Inside

Now when you have a card front that has many layers and some weight to it the inside has to say a "wow" also. So here is the inside of the Marine Card. I used another one of the stickers and a SU photo corner punch and brads. Mini punched stars for the bottom made out of the gold metallic paper.

US Marine Birthday Card

This is a 5 1/2 square Birthday Card for a special friend who served our country and still has a passion for the "core". This was a really fun card to make and real easy. I needed the full square with in order to capture the feel of the embellishments. The Marine seal is a K & Company Sticker. I bought it at Michael's. The star medal and Marine word label were also in the sticker package. The metallic paper is from envelopemall.com embossed with the cuttlebug swiss dot folder. The red and blue metallic paper is by Bazzil and I bought it at Michael's. The stars are also part of the K & Company Sticker package.

I had a piece of the textured leather looking paper that fell out of the scrap box while doing another project so I had to make something with the football theme in mind. I do not remember the name of the textured paper. But I think I got it in "Michael's" and it has a faux leather texture like a real football.

Paper Pumpkins

My sons school had a Thanksgiving Dinner. So I decided to volunteer to make some of the class room decorations to follow along with he feast that the class Mothers had put together. So I designed these centerpieces for the children's table. I made the pumpkins all out of paper. Digital Paper at that and solid Stampin Up card stock. It was an easy and fun project. And might I say too that the children were in "wowed" by the center pieces.
The leaves were created with a "Big Shot" die cut from Stampin' Up. And I used all scraps from my overflowing scrap paper bin.
To make the big pumpkin I printed out a downloaded file of Digital Paper. I purchased a the Shabby Princess Digital site. First I printed one side of the patterned paper and then ran it through the printer again with a coordinating design from the paper pack. In essence it I made my own designer paper. Since creating this pumpkin would should two sides when I fanned it out. I used SU Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon for the stems. To make the "vine" I cut 1/16" of SU paper and curled it around a thin paintbrush handle, a toothpick works too. SU Card stock is the only paper I can curl.

All that being said I love this card and it challenged me to use Kiwi Kiss, which has been a hard color for me to grow into. My Scallop punches are always on the table. They are great for that quick card.

Punches..... How fun is it to create a card with all the Punches. I had a class called" Punch it" and so this was a creation from many of the talented artists on SCS Community. My new find for paper is using "digital " paper. I purchase the file from a digital paper website and then print the actual designer paper on white card stock. The printer is key to this techniques. Most digital scrappers do not print the paper so it is not an issue. Since I have a good quality printer it works for my classes. It provides me as many sheets as I want of a designer paper and I can use endlessly for any paper project.

How neat to look at this card and see a pop of color. I love this layout and I make this card quite often changing the color flower and words. I found the inspiration on the SCS website and just couldn't help make it. I used SU Pink Passion paper which I always have a hard time using. I just do not use it enough. Punches is the key to the speed of this card. Make it with any bright color. If you have trouble with the SU Bold Bright color family this is the perfect card for experimenting. Use any type of punch for the focal.. Remember to be imaginative.

Back to School Night

These were the items I made for Austin's Back to School Bake Sale. "Smore Chipper Cookies" . I got the recipe from the Pillsbury Website. Needed something quick fun and Yummy. The stamping took longer than the baking. I used my Scallop Punch for the tag and SU Dotted Autum. Michael's had a sale on these 50 cent ribbon spools so they were perfect for wrapping these packages. I also bought the melting Chocolate at Michael's in the candy department. I had my man Richie deliver them to the School so they could be priced by the bake sale committee. Here is the link to cookie recipe.

When we got to the bake sale Richie was curious to find out what they were charging for my cookies. All 4 dozen went and I might add for a very high price too. Richie would over hear the customers at the bake sale table talking about how they were wrapped and the ribbons. So I was excited that people were enjoying it. All that being said when you think that people do not appreciate presentation they do. It is just not always in the format we want to hear. But trust me if you stop and listen people notice. Now of course I did want them to know that I did this work, and having an unusual name helps. So I did stamp the back of the tag with my personalized name stamp. Never know who might need something. Always working the network too helps the business.

Pretty Pears

When I began stamping in 1989 the stamps I picked never had to much coloring requirements. I minimized my arena of coloring. Ironic because I loved coloring books and always got very excited over a new box of crayons (96 count Crayola Box with sharpener) every September when I got new school supplies. Since starting the art the images have greatly evolved and their true to life features are amazing today. Over the summer one of my students shared a water coloring technique that she learned from one of the many blogs she reaches through her inspiration journeys on the computer.
Miss Carol shared using Watercolor paper, SU Markers, and an Aquapainter to create beautiful watercolor art. She got me hooked on coloring with my line art stamps. She gave pointers on how to shade mix marker colors and now I love "Line Art Stamps. This is one of my Stamp a Stack Cards.
Now isn't something that I started with fruit. It is like the first art class you take when you paint a bowl of fruit. Although it is corny to start with fruit I love the technique and made quite of few of these to send out "just because". I encourage you to get watercolor paper and start coloring.

Wild Rose Notes

Here are the notes that match the card wrap holder. Simple elegant and I made four cards and envelopes to match in less than an hour.

I want to say more like a half hour because I put my french fries in the Convection Oven for dinner while I made them. And I put the fries in the Convection Oven for 30 minutes @350. So when the oven beeped I needed to be done.

Oh yes!!! that is how I stamp sometimes. I squeeze time in between other daily chores. Now that does not include cutting and designing. Designing is endless and I do not include that in card constructing time. I also do not include cutting time in card construction because I have a cutting department here at Paper Designs. So I will make a sample card or have them on hand and then hand it over for cutting. The main cards and their layers are done by my Husband. Yes! Richie. And any punching is divided and given to the kids. Austin can handle most punches and does really well following my directions when I need punched items. He also builds color skills because I give him the scrap box with color filed paper. So we "think green" at the same time. Savanna is only 2 1/2 so we give her real simple stuff and mainly anything pink and green since those are the two colors she knows the most.

Now back to my point of simple, easy and quick notes. The cards are basic white with a layer of color behind. The stamp set speaks for the rest of the card since it is a Stampin Up two-step stamp set with very dynamic details. Using two different inks to achieve the shading. A single word and an elegant organdy ribbon as a final touch.

So!! it has been about two weeks since I posted anything. But things are very crazy busy for my family around Halloween. I also have been teaching an adult stamp class at the local High School as well as classes in my home. The classes in my home are geared to focus on some more advanced techniques. So designing and prepping has really consumed me. Al l that being said I too seek inspiration from the many stamp artist's sharing their work in blogs and on Internet stamping sites. This note card holder is from a woman that I respect so highly. She is creative, humble, spiritual, and great mother. Jewish New Year

Happy New Year to all my Jewish Friends. This is one Holiday Day to many special friends in my community school and workplace. So Hard to create a Jewish greeting since sentiments and Stamp Sets are limited. But when I created this card Papertrey and ink had not mailed their Jewish Stamp Set to me in time for me to send the card. But not to worry I have it for the December Holidays. Star of David Wedding

This is a card I created for a customer whose daughter was getting married. Being the couple was non-traditional I had to keep it simple. I created the star of David by Stamping two triangles from an old Stampin Up set called "The shape of things". It was a pretty big triangle. I then cut the triangles out and taped them together to form the shape of the Jewish Star. I then traced the stamped shape onto a piece of cardboard that is enclosed in the Designer Paper from Stampin UP. I wanted my tempalte to have weight to it. Thinking Green. Right!!! This star could be made in all different colors and represent many events in a jewish celebration. I used "Quartz" Paper and the cuttlebug, and Pink Paper to create elegance.

Oh my! I forgot to write about this card. This is a card I made for a co-worker.. It is quick and simple but uses one of my favorite "RETIRED" Stampin up sets. I think it is called Sweet Treats. I used the cuttlebug embossing folder to give it an elegant look. The Chocolate Sating Ribbon is from last years Holiday Mini. Loved that ribbon. A prima paper flower at the top with a Martha Stewart Pearl in the center. Some Copic Marker coloring and Liquid Applique. Just enough to make it elegant yet simple.

The Bride & Groom

Well what a weekend. I do not know where to begin. My husband and I went to a great wedding and my nieces were there to take my camera and get some pictures of us. We had a great time. The kids stayed home with Nonna and Nonno and we had the weekend off. So of course I made the wedding card for the gift.
I have been in a determined state of mind to learn "Iris Paper Folding" a technique that just takes concentration and time. But it is quite easy once you understand how it works.
I was guided through this technique by a fellow stamp artist and former student of mine. She has now grown and graduated to a inspiring "Card Artist". She had done this technique several other times and walked me through this card. I was fortunate enough to find http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html the template for this couple. I then incorporated the brides colors from the wedding and designed the card. The top of the dress is Su Card stock vellum and I put it through the cuttlebug. The Tux is Su Black Paper and I ran that through the cuttlebug as well with the "distress" embossing folder. But my favorite part are the Brides legs. I used the legs from the mft set called "School Days". I colored her legs in with SU Blush Blossom and an aqaua painter. I colored the shoes in with an American Crafts Metallic Marker. The book plate is from Joann's and I used SU Crystal Brads on each side. The ribbon is from the Holiday Section of Michael's Arts and Crafts store. I used a gel pen for the buttons on the tux.

Baby Blue Elephant

Another Quick Baby card. These I did for my son's teacher. The class gave her baby shower. This was part of my gift basket. There are 20 cards with matching envelopes. I made a Belly band for around the envelopes, which holds them together when I place them in the basket. I slide the band up a little so you could see how I hold the envelopes and still see the design on the matching envelopes. Again I used the cuttlebug

a white base and a square scallop punch. I used the stampin wheel from SU called spot on and rolled two sheets of white paper. I then stamped the Papertrey Baby Elephant http://www.papertreyink.com/stamps_bittybabyblessings.html on the wheeled spotted paper. I cut out each elephant and put them up on a dimensional on the blue scallop square. I used the "bug" again. The swiss dot folder. It took me 30 minutes to make 20 of these. Notice not one embellishment. Easy Easy Easy.....

Easy Baby Elephant

Easy and Quick is today's theme if you will. I am putting these up because these are some of the cards that I make in large quantities. Now those of you that are familiar with my card making know that I make cards usually in sums of 20 or more. I give these cards as gifts for the many occasions that I attend with my friends and family. It gives me chance to show others that a handmade card still has a place in the world of 'High tech" communication. "Thank you" cards are always an easy and appreciated gift by the people who have to thank their guest for their gifts or attendance in a celebration.

All that being said I need to be quick and cute in those types of cards. So here is a card for a baby shower where the "Mother-to-be" does not know if it is a boy or girl baby. So green is always generic.

A white based card. Some spots and a cute ribbon with a brad. A little water coloring with an Aqua painter and re-inkers. Done!!!

For this shower I made and put 40 of them in a white box. In the box I include a pen and a pad. At the shower the pad and pen come in handy for writing down the gift and the gift giver's name. Then the
Mother-to-be can put the cards that came with the gift in the box and she is instantly organized and has her shower cards saved. The box can hold future items that the Mom may want to save of the babies. Just a quick way to start that memory box without a lot of effort. She has everything in one place. Cute idea I thought. And she doesn't have to make time to go out and buy "Thank You" cards. How do I know how many to make?

Good Question!!!! When I R.S.V.P. to the party I usually have conversation with the host of the event. I ask a lot of general questions that give me information on the event. I ask about the theme, color, boy or girl, number of people invited and thus I have good information for design. I usually write all the information down on the invitation that I get for the party and then use that to create my design. I then add 10 to the count of invitation's mailed. This way I am within a range that the right amount of "Thank You" cards are in the box.

The finally touch is a big fluffy bow with really pretty ribbon. It is about about presentation. And on top of the box I make an extra card and put it in a clear envelope and stick on top of the box to show the receiver the content of cards inside the box. Voila! a practical gift.

Hello all!
How cute and simple is this card. One of my favorite tools is the cuttlebug. Now if you own a microwave in your home then you need a cuttlebug. A cuttlebug is the microwave of paper crafting. Literally you can create a card in 10 minutes. This card took 10 minutes. So think of how many you could make and stock up on with just a few hours of time. The stamps are part of an adorable set called Bitty Baby Blessings from Papertrey.http://www.papertreyink.com. Papertrey has some of the best clear stamp images out there. The owner is the former Chief Editor of Papercrafts Magazine. She is not only a fantastic artist but a talented and savvy business women. She has vision and tenacity. I love their products and service.

The "inches" are made with a 1"inch square punch and the ducks punched out with a 1/2" circle punch. The cuttlebug embossing folders are Baby and Swiss Dot. The very straight scored lines in the photo are created with a "Score Pal". Papertrey sells the "scorepal" now, and here is the website for the scorepal. http://www.scor-pal.com/. It is another fantastic tool. Finally these quick cards are inspired by a lady at SCS named SusieB. I personally think her simple and elegant cards are wonderful. Now you know before I could finish the card one of my children had to interrupt so that is why a ten minute card is great because a child wants 5 minutes of that 10 minute card time to participate in the process. (My son was the colorist on the envelope and on the baby ducks you see on the card. He also did the square punching.) So now really think about how many you could create without an assistant that is 3 feet tall. So my coloring assistant used his "Crayola"™ colored pencils on the Mother and Baby Duck on the envelope as well as on the 1/2 circle ducks on the card.

One of my favorite groups of all time. I guess I gave my age away now. Definitely old enough to know the "Eagles"© ™. In May 08 we went to the Eagles© ™ Concert in Manhattan at the famous Madison Square Garden. One of the first dates my husband and I have had in 2 years. Yes! two years since my daughter was born. He bought the tickets as my Mother's Day gift. What great time. The friends he bought the tickets were so kind to set the whole evening up for him. So I needed to thank them with a "card" of course. Here is the card I came up with. It is a 5 1/2 inch square card, using the cuttlebug. http://www.happyscrappinscrapbooking.com. I used "stazon Ink" on the quartz paper and stamped it off once. Then I ran the paper through the "allegro" Cuttlebug folder.

One I my hardest design struggles are Masculine themes. Purchasing masculine stamps seems to be something I need to concentrate on. In the spirit of practicality I need to justify in my mind that a set that would be more "manly" must also be versatile. So all that being said I came up with these two cards for a man's Birthday. Of course I utilized http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ for inspiration and layout design. The three stamps sets are from Stampin' Up and are currently retired. But a retired catalog stamp does not mean a stamps sets life is over. I have an endearing relationship with all my stamps. They all have a special card waiting in their owners heart. Place Cards for The Wedding

These are wedding place cards I helped make with the bride. Her colors were black and cream. We made 3X3 tent cards and punched Scallop circles for the fronts. On the front were the Brides and Groom's Monogram. The inside had the name and table number for the guest. I created the monogram on the computer with ms word "Edwardian Script" font. This was a fun and quick project. I also made the table numbers for the reception tables.

The Bella Bride

In the last few months I have made quite of few cards relating to Brides. This is one of my favorite images from the "Bella" stamp line. If you are not familiar with Bella's well you are missing out on some very fun images.

http://stampingbella.com/. This is "Sposabella". Isn't she stunning. This is a 5 1/2 inch square card. I used and aquapainter and SU Blush Blossom re-inker to color her arms and chest. Very subtly of course. Her bouquet has been colored in with SU Pomegranate re-ink er and an aqua painter and then covered with "cotton candy" stickles. Her dress is covered with dots of SU "Dazzling Diamonds" I used "Martha Stewarts" fine tip glue pen. I stamped the image in Versafine and then clear embossed the image. The background stamp on the card base is a clear stamp from "inkadinkadoo". The set is called "Damask".

I made the envelope to match of Course it is all about presentation.....

Off to School

Hello!

Well, My little man began the second grade today. Wow that was fast. Not the summer just but him getting to second grade. Of course like every household in my town we began the routine of getting to school on time. Now you all know that I did not have to just raise my voice that would have been easy. I screamed! Now all that is rational to me says that he doesn't respond when I scream but I sure do feel better afterwards. My son has two speeds "Stop and Reverse". Plus I had to get my two year old daughter ready to because she need come with me since my care giver couldn't be at my house by the time I had to take him to school. So when I tell you that I am challenged everyday by my children I think you can see a little picture of what I mean. Now I am not the only Mom in this boat I just happen to share the real side of myself. Oh! and did I mention I had to get myself ready for work too.

Now! On to the card. I was excited to get to know Austin's new teacher that I had to make her a card and introduce myself. So this is what I came up with. I love this stamp set from "My Favorite things". This image is also known as "Who is that girl", and the stamp set is called "Back to School". This stamp company has a distinctive style and I love her, especially since she does not have a face. I paper pieced her dress with some DP scraps and clear embossed the Blackboard. Used brads and eyelets. Just a fun and quick little note.

Monogram Wedding

Monograms are very very popular now. I love the classic look of black and white for a wedding. I had just purchased the monogram stamp set, which has the whole monogram kit plus choices in it. The company that makes the monogram letters and designs is http://justritestampers.com/. Since the CHA show this past summer they have expanded their line a lot. I bought the basics to start and I love love love it. Quick and easy. The inspiration for this card originally came from here: http://dbdoodle.blogspot.com/2008/05/say-cheese.html.

Debbie's original card is stunning simple and elegant. Since I was "under the gun" for a Wedding Card I found my inspiration from searching the Splitcoast Stampers website. I added some personal changes to it and created the bow from directions in the SU Success publication that I get monthly as a Demonstrator. Black satin ribbon was the final touch, which tied the whole look together. The actual Monogram is stamped with Black "Versafine" ink and clear embossed on Vellum Card stock. I then punched the vellum with a 1 1/2 circle punch and punched another Circle of the same size out of the Quartz paper from http://www.actionenvelope.com/ae/control/main and glued it together. So the glue would not show through the vellumn I put the glue on the black areas of the monogram.

Here is the Invitation of course and the place cards with a close up of the table number cards and Mary Jane Shoe. I made 65 invites. A lot of corner rounding for those three layers. I ran the base layers through the cuttlebug and used the quartz paper. This made the invites more elegant and gave them a vintage look. I did the inside of the invite with the computer using the "Edwardian" Script font. In order to get the the white inside the dress I use the beaching technique. I used an aqua painter and straight bleach. As the bleach dried on the embossed image I got the whiteness on the dress. I used a direct to paper technique for the distressed floral border.

The Place card is a 3X3 note card of the same office depot cardstock.

Note: if you look closely you can see the chocolate molds for the monogramed chocolates, which I put in each of the shoes.

Baby Shoes

In June of 2008 I help my husband's cousin

with the Christening of her second Little Girl. These baby Mary Jane's were such a big hit at her daughters first Christening that I made them again. A total of 70. Yes I made 70 shoes with the cooperative efforts of many close stamping friends. I also did the table numbers. The paper for the shoe is digital. I printed the digital paper on smooth white card stock, which I purchased at officedepot.com. I then printed the template which I found on the Splicoaststampers website under the template forum. I then revamped the template so that I was able to print two(2) shoe forms on one 81/2 X 11 sheet of paper. I put the soles to cover the bottom of the shoe on another template sheet. All together you need to run the paper twice through the printer. I then made monogrammed white chocolates with the babies initials and stuffed them into each shoe. The table numbers were also done with digital paper and then I ran the paper through the cuttlebug machine using the Textile Embossing Folder.

Table No. Sign- Paper: SU Blush Blossom, SU Close to Cocoa and Quartz white paper. Stamp Set SU Buggies and Booties, Ink: SU Close to Cocoa "Craft" ink clear embossing powder, White 7/8" organdy ribbon. Font for Numbers MS Word "Edwardian Script". The measurement of the acutal card is 5 1/2 X 11 1/2.

Baby Shoe: Digital Paper- http://www.computerscrapbook.com/epapertotues1.html Tea on Tuesday E-Paper kit. Dew Drop for button on shoe. and 1/16" ribbon to tie chocolates in a small candy bag. Quartz Paper from http://actionenvelope.com/ and a Marvy Daisy Punch and Cinnamon stickles on the center of shoe the flower.

I attached the daisy, dew drop and the flap of the shoe with Mono Multi Glue. I assembled the actual shoe with my ATG gun and the gold ATG tape found here: http://framingsupplies.com/

Shadow Box Card

I wanted to create this shadow box card for a long while. I needed to make a card for a fellow stamper and she is an awesome artist that wishes to remain 'Unnamed". I used "Meet Me at the cafe" by Mftstamps.com. The card is 3D and stands. It can be mailed in an A2 envelope.
